Is there any Effective Antivirus Package for linux... to download ... I search on google ..but due to lack of time i am asking this question... any help would be appreciate....
My OS was Linux Advance Server 3.0 with kernel-2.4.21-15.EL
which is the best and obvious antivirus program for this kernel....
Distribution: windows xp home, windows 98, red hat 9, fedora core 3, redhat enterprise linux, win2000 pro/server

first, there are very few viruses for linux, so antivirus for linux is quite useless, nonetheless, f-prot has a version of their antivirus suite for linux, take a look at that, that was by far the easiest one i found to install and use, other more popular ones are harder to install
You made a good decision to start investigating anti-virus options now. Though Linux is more secure than MS, the "Security by Obscurity" is going to become less and less viable as it's popularity increases. There are already viruses "In the wild" that are Linux specific and others that are cross platform. Better to be over-cautious than careless. One thought to find solace in is the fact that any vulnerability discovered in Linux, will be fixed much quicker than in MS because of the open source support.
