Unhappy IRQ Sharing to get the sound work

I got a problem with my SoundBlaster Audigy Player under Debian "Woody" 3.0r1.
I found the correct driver and even if it was correctly compiled and installed the soundcard can't be probed using "modprobe emu10k1".

Seeking for a solution for several weeks I finally realized maybe I can fix it simply turning on the IRQ SHARING option or kind of.
Too bad I didn't find this option with "make menuconfig"/"make xconfig".

Can you explain me how can I turn on the IRQ Sharing to get the sound work?
Thank you very much.

less /usr/src/linux/Documentation/Configure.help
/sharing

Besides that I'd check my BIOS settings ;)

Cheers,

I didn't set my BIOS IRQ, leaving them as they were and I had no problem in Windows... maybe in Linux is the opposite...
Anyway thank you for the tip, I'll check it out asap.
Bye.

Unluckly I didn't get any useful info reading that file.
I really don't know what to do, now, 'cause this was my last idea.

I wonder if at least it's possible to let the system handle the sb audigy as a basic soundcard, with just general features.
What do you think about that?
See ya.
