Sharing IRQ

I'm trying to make my isdn card work, and yesterday finally i get it to work... but, the next time i rebooted i can't connect anymore "isdn: local hang up" it says... after few tries i managed to connect... doing exactly things i did before... now "isdn: local hang up" again...
i see that my isdn card is sharing irq 9 with my soundcard... it's possible that this is the problem?
thanks

It is very likely that the problem is related to the soundcard and isnd sharing the same irq9 .
is ur soundcard onboard or pci? have u tried moving ur sndcard to another slot (if pci) this may resolve the conflict. U can try cat /proc/interrupts to see what the status is
U may be able to alter the irq in the bios (under plug and play)
U should be able to compile interrupt sharing in the kernel (but only if ur motherboard allows it)
My advice would be to remove soundcard (if pci) or disable onboard soundcard in bios as a first step.
If isdn works properly then put ur soundcard in another slot or follow other advice. :-)

first try was to remove the module of my sound card, so
cat /proc/interrupt changed from

9: 13113 XT-PIC HiSax, es1371

to

9: 13113 XT-PIC HiSax

but isdn card still doesn't work, i'm starting to think it's only a matter of configuring the connection... something i've done the first time but don't remember

Do u have installed the ISDN utilities package in which case there is a lot of info in the /usr/share/doc/isdnutils U may need to compile a new kernel for ur isdn card....do u have PPP in the kernel (not loaded as a module but IN the kernel)? Use also synchronous PPP support +VJ -compression with PPP support :-) U can also check out google to see if u can find any HiSax siemens chipset support
