install wireless network in ubuntu 10.04


hi

i have a problem about wireless network connection,i install ubuntu 10.04 in mu lapatop lenovo G460, but on the right top panel of ubuntu, which is related to network connection, I don't have wireless network , how do I install it? i should mention that wireless Sta that driver is activate in my ubuntu;
I really need wireless connection because in university I have to connect to internet in linux via wireless but I can't,

it seem 's that I turn on my wireless device but I don'tknow where should I go to turn it on in ubuntu 10.04?


please help me
it 's necessary for me to solve this problem soon

you tunr on wireless if you right-click on nm-applet. Probably it is already turned on and you only need to select the right network.

I didn't find nm-applet in ubuntu, where is it?
in fact there is not no option for enabling wireless network!
and this is my problem!
