I dont recognize myself using PING

Hi all,

Why cannot I use ping to recognize myself??

avmdaa@nlnienb0106 /etc> hostname
nlnienb0106
avmdaa@nlnienb0106 /etc> ping nlnienb0106
ping: unknown host nlnienb0106

If I try this in other computers it works!

I have to solve this problem, because I have a commercial software that checks the name of my computer. Since I cannot trace myself, I cannot run that program. :-/

I am using opensuse 10.2

Thanks,

Diego

Hi Diego,

This is strange... Try to put an entry in your /etc/hosts file and see what happens.
