Things dont work when you dont understand

Sorry basic question, but im withoutaclue, hi

So i have a "BIN" file. I open it, redhat views its source code, but i want to run it, install it etc... whats the command in the terminal to do this basic process?

Oh and uhmm can u program short cuts to run programs, cause i installed "everybuddy" and i have to type "everybuddy" every time i want to run it in the terminal. uhmm can i make an icon a short cut for the process?

Thanks

Ian

if you are in the directory with the binary you should type ./binaryname this will execute it.

in RedHat, can't you simply right-click on the background and select something like "new app" or "new launcher," then add the command (ie, "everybuddy") in the dialog that comes up? or add to the taskbar by same method.
