Use KDE? KWrite is great and very lightweight. For multiple files, use Kate - it has a builtin terminal, too, just in case you need it, and it has very advanced split-screen editing using the same text editor engine as KWrite.
Considering the way you word it, I think you actually want a “web page editor” rather than an HTML editor.
In this context, Open Office is probably a good choice for you.

Yes you could be right .I have been round the houses trying to find something .All i need is web page editor like note pad for the PC so i can update the html on a web page save it and upload to my web site.
