HTML Editor

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
Right now i am looking for a html editor to use on Linux. Last time i looked i couldn't find anything more than a glorified notepad :-P. Perhaps i was just looking in the wrong places. Anyways i'm just trying to find a reason to use linux rather than windows for something but i need something remotely similar to Dreamweaver.

Basically what i'm looking for in my HTML Editor is:
1. Color coded code (such as different colors for attributes, tags and string literals (or whatever they're called in html))
2. A hotkey for opening the page in a browser

Typically the first of my expectations in a HTML Editor was the one that went unmet.

Linux has great software and i know theres prolly some program for linux that will surprise me with its magnificence. I just have no idea what it is Any HTML Editor recommendations would be EXCELLENT! Thanks

I would recommend you Quanta or Bluefish.

there was another thread

that recommended nvu.

I also want to point out that you can find composer right there in netscape and mozilla.

PM me if you want the other thread... NVU was the only one I remember.

Get bluefish if you want to write the html yourself (which I recommend cause it's not hard and a lot easier and produces readable code)
