how to install an older version of a package...

So.., this is my problem, I recently upgraded the gtk2 library to version 2.4.0-9, and lots of programs suchs a gVim have stoped working..., I read on internet that if you "downgrade" that library to whatever comes in the CD (SusE 9.1)..., but... how do I do that???

Thanks in advance!
