kernel build problems -how to install older gcc version?
I have Fedora 4 test 3 and i tried to compile a new kernel. However, in different versions i have tried to build ( fedora kernels and also from kernel.org) i get an error about i2c and ia32, although i have not added any i2c support/modules in the kernel.
As i have read, the problems may be caused by the gcc-4 compiler-not sure. I tried to install gcc-3.3, but i ran into dependency problems:
gcc-3.3--> cpp-3.3-->xorg-x11-6.8.2 (/usr/bin/cpp is needed by (installed) xorg-x11-6.8.2-30.x86_64)
What can i do?
Thanks
