how to check for repository server whether there are any users.

Hello ,

I have challenge here. I have old repository server running with SLES 11.
We have to power OFF the server but before also need to check whether the repository server is still having any users or any user is still consuming the repository. Is there a possibility to find the repository server is still using any customers/users either from the client end or from server end?

have you tried checking logs:

/var/log/messages
/var/log/secure
/var/log/auth

ss or netstat to check any existing connections

Or if you mean the repository's packages, check the logs for the HTTP daemon.

I agree with checking the logs and maybe
Code:
netstat -tanp

who
A classic way to work a problem like this is to just disable/shutdown the service (NOT the whole server!) for a while eg a week and see if anyone screams...

Hello All,

I do not see anything specific to the clients. Also I see the following is mentionedin the netstart -tanp output :

tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:25 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 5362/master

query: For a server where the clients are using what should be checked in the logs?
Also , I do see local IPs in the netstat output , does that mean no active clients are still using this machine ?
