Cool Games support: will my 3D games work on Linux OS?

Games such as Hidden and Dangerous 2, In Memoriam and including online multiplayer games such as counterstrike.

If not, what languages do I need to start programming games. I already have already grasped the principles of Visual Basic and have the tools to make simple VB programs.

Some games do and some don't, check out the games forum here. Quake and Unreal both work well natively in Linux, I think CS will work under WineX.

VB is only for Windows. It is fine for basic scripts but for graphic game programming I think you will have to learn a lower level language (C/C++).

no, windows(R) based games dont run natively in linux (duh...)

but with an app, you can fool them into running on your linux comp.

wine, winex, and crossoveroffice are popular programs for this.
wine is free, but doesnt support as many programs as winex or crossover, which are both pay-for. (you can get winex via cvs for free)

http://www.transgaming.com/ for winex
http://www.winehq.com/ for wine
and http://www.codeweavers.com/site/products/ for crossover office
