Lightbulb GAin Help


hi all, i need help installing gaim im running red hat 9, um.... i know i need to use the rpm command but im not sure where to install.... please help

If you've already downloaded the rpm then do the following from any directory as root or su:

rpm -i gaim-file-name.rpm

when i do that it tells me this

[root@localhost apps]# rpm -i gaim-0.76-0rh9.i386.rpm
warning: gaim-0.76-0rh9.i386.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 883c1c14
error: Failed dependencies:
gtkspell is needed by gaim-0.76-0rh9
libgtkspell.so.0 is needed by gaim-0.76-0rh9

then u need to install gtkspell , libgtkspell.so.0
search for them in rpmfind.net

and if u want to make downloading and installing software easier in the future u should check out apt-get , as u will only type : apt-get install gaim
thats it

or theres a gui for it called synaptic
