I installed Fedora core 3 and I can't play any MP3 audio files. Included player called XMMS says that the support for MP3 is away because of some licence problems. I downloaded BMP player and it can't play MP3 files either.
Can anyboy tell me what should I install and where to get it to play MP3s ?
I really didn't imagine that it would be so big problem to do such simple task in Linux :-(
Another thing is that computer doesn't even play audio CDs (there is no sound). Audio card is installed properly {sound test plays OK). Only way I found was to convert audio CD to OGG files, then it plays OK.
I'm getting a bit disappointed by failing to do such simple things in Linux :-(
Do a google search for pbone xmms-mpg123 rpm .
You should see an entry for xmms-mpg123-1.2.7-22.i386.rpm which you can download.
You install it with the command: rpm -Uvh xmms-mpg123-1.2.7-22.i386.rpm
