external dvd burners


Does anyone know which external dvd burners work out of the box in Ubuntu and which ones Don't? This is my first post by the way, hope to find knowledgeable help, thanks!

Check the HCL (Hardware Compatibility List). For e.g. there's this one under Sony: http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/sh...t/2905/cat/412
