Unable to ping my Linux box on windows network

Did you add the host information to the /etc/hosts on the linux box?

yah i had added host info in /etc/hosts

Also contenets of my /etc/resolv.conf are

search Ansun-nt
nameserver 192.168.0.150
linserver 192.168.0.150

Any idea why I am not able get through ?

Print out you " hosts " file on your 95 machine and /etc/hosts on linserver, are you using linserver as a name server? If not take out " linserver " entry from /etc/resolve.conf this file points the linux box to it's name server.

Atlast It got through, I can ping to linserver now.. There was some problem in hosts file of windows 95 machine only.
