Unhappy Strange Problem

Ok, I made the transition to linux a little while ago, and it has been quite a learning experience. I am running Topologi linux on a dos partition and everything was peachy until yesterday.

For some reason (a crash possibly? or problem on university's end?) some websites can no longer be accessed under any browser in linux. Resolv.conf is configured properly (to the best of my knowledge) and the settings are the same as they were before (which are the settings the university told be to use for their network) but I still am having problems...

These sites will load under windows

Any suggestions?

Welcome to LQ.

What error message are you getting?

What browsers have you tried?

the error I am getting is the Host not found error, and I am getting it in Konqueror and netscape. I havent tried mozilla though...

... I just checked the sites that were having problems and they work now but I dont think it could have been a problem on the University's side, because when they werent working for me on linux, they were working for me on windows, and all of the rest of the dorm on windows....

oh well, I guess the problem was kind of solved....

Just post again if the problem returns.
