redhat adsl and surfing

I have a adsl router configured thru a web browser. It tests fine through the browsers test scripts.

DO i need to install a ppp0 device using the eth1 card to access the internet or should it just work?

I am so confused by linux in general. Will the iptables stop it from working?

SO far i have internet-->adsl modem router-->linux-- but no internet.

I have installed a ppp0 but it will not activate.

run the wizard from the control panel or from the console as root: drakconnect (they are the same).
Put your ip, mask, dns of your internet provider and the gateway ip u set on your router. GO SURFING AND HAVE FUN.
