Okay this should work. From what I read in the specs. The important thing is if your installing Debian is to use the testing ( sarge ) installation CD and not the stable ( woody ).
the installer should pick up the modem, but if it doesn't make sure you have the USB modem ( CDC ACM ) module in the kernel ( otherwise know as acm.o )
The cd might pick up the eth0 device for you if its working anyway. ( It automatically set up mine ) if not then USB it is.
I just got finished downloading all the files needed for debian. I just downloaded the newest version
debian-30r2-i386-binary-1.iso - 7 and the update I dont know if its woody or dont know how to tell or if thats a add on or what. As soon as I figure out how to burn the iso's ill get back to you
Dear Frens
I m a new member of this forum.i have problems of connecting 2 net.
I have installed linux 9.0, and have 10mbps LAN connection.
I use ISA server for connecting 2 net.
I did everything for proxy settings etc but the network admins say that gateway problem is there..........wat can possibly b d prob?
pls reply 2 me asap..........i m TOTALLY LOST.
The ISO you downloaded is Woody Stable. 30r2, We can try with that but Testing would be better ( as it has the latest kernel, and drivers ).
I know its jigdo, but Its very easy to use ( and quicker that downloading ISO ) Its the "testing" distribution links on Downloading Debian Offical tend to be better.
As for burning the ISO ( jigdo assembles an ISO for you ), Simplu go into your burning software and select burn an image file( Not create a data CD ). The default values are usually right ( they are with Nero ) and of you go.
