Question new ethernet card: help

got a new card to put into my old pentium-s 150mhz.

right now its in the kitchen, so i use a hub in between my ADSL modem and the dismantled computer.

i installed MiniSlack, and i tried using adsl-setup to setup PPPoE (this i tried from reading stuff already on this forum)

however, i haven't been able to connect.

uhh i go adsl-start and it times out. i go adsl-connect and it says eth0 No Device.

sigh. hardware is hard.
==

would the hub be a problem?

is there an alternative that comes with minislack that connect to ADSL?
if i got a router that dials for me, would this be a problem?

uhh, if you need more info, please let me know

I mean, when i go
Code:
# lspci > lspci.txt
i can't bring the .txt file over to my windows machine via floppy drive (because i can't seem to mount /dev/fd0 and copy the file)

I get an error. No device found.

what i can infer is that since u are trying this in minislack there might be some hardware restrictions
maybe this small distro does not suppoprt ur ethernet card

so get it conformed that minislack supports ur hardware

regards
