Multi-Port Gigabit/Ethernet Adapters compatible with Fedora 13
Good day guys
I have been helping everyone for years, now my turn for some help
I have a HP Compaq 6200 PC that I need to make a firewall out of.
The problem is that
1.) The onboard Inteal Pro 1000 card does not get picked up by Fedora 13
2.) There is only ONE PCI slot for an additional network card.
I obviously need two network cards to make it a firewall. So to bypass the onboard network card issue, I need to install two network cards additional, which I can't, so I need a single network card, with multiple network ports.
I have used the,m in the past, and they worked great.
My question is, what make and model card should I get that WILL work with Fedora 13 ?
do NOT use fedora 13, that's a REALLY bad idea. It's old now, and no longer being supported. Pick a dedicated firewall distro, like pfsense / ipcop / astaro, or at least server grade distro, e.g. CentOS 6.2 and install it properly.

Hi Buddy !!
Should I rather get the latest Fedora, or just get Centos 6.2 spesific rather, maybe solving my issue ?
Download site for Centos 6.2 if I HAVE to go Centos 6.2 ?
The server will bea firewall, mail server, dns server and Open VPN host server.
you don't have to use CentOS at all, but a rapid development distro like Fedora is not responsible. an Ubuntu LTS release might be appropriate too if you feel your requirements are too multifunctional for a modules firewall system (which can be pretty versatile)

Thanks for the reply again. I will try Centos 6.2, since I have worked on it before in the past, and have seen great support for it.
Just wish I knew what distro will pick up this device !!
I am SO SURE that Intel Pro 1000 cards are supported ?? But let me kill that broadband limit and download the latest OS !
