If you cannot find a distro that has the driver (compiled for the same kernel version that your Fedora uses) you will probably have to get the driver's source code from its vendor's site and compile it yourself. Google "sk98lin" which is the name of the driver.

Thumbs up Kernel 2.6.11

I am running Suse 9.3 which utilizes the 2.6.11 kernel.

I also have the Marvell Yukon (the 64-bit one) Gigabit Ethernet Controller.

The driver is included in this Suse distro. Works like a charm

Note: There is two Yukon single chip on-board NICs I am aware of. The 88e8001 is the 32-bit model. The 88e8010 is the 64-bit one.

Check out http://www.marvell.com for more info.

Hope this info helps!

I have this Marvell ethernet on my board as well. If you download the driver from Marvell, the README file included with the driver gives some excellent directions on gettting the driver to install or patch into the kernel. I had to also download the current kernel from kernel.org (full source) and then patch it with the Marvell driver as per the README file. It worked just fine with Fedora C3 after that.

You will need to use the "mkinitrd" command to create the initrd.<kernel-version> for the kernel you compile with the ethernet driver after copying the bzImage and System.map files to /boot (you can find the other initrd files in the /boot directory for the proper file name format). I believe there is a man page for initrd.

You may also want to try this driver:

The installation script that comes with the driver worked just fine in FC4 without having to recompile the kernel.

Not sure about FC3's kernel but the newer 2.6 kernels have options that you can enable for gigabit and 10 gigabit Ethernet cards.
