i am running fedora core 1. i have mounted two drives at:

/home/joeschmo/albums
/home/joeschmo/songs

this goes just fine. drives are accessible in multiple apps.

now i set up a samba share as such:

[music]
path = /home/joeschmo
writeable = yes
comment = music
browseable = yes

i mount this share via my os x machine. authentication and everything goes just fine. when i look at it, i can see the two folders (albums and songs), but when i open them, they are empty.

my guess is that samba is not reading my mounted disks properly for some reason. any thoughts?

Does the samba user you set up have read access to the shares? I am not sure how mac handles permissions, but if you used (eg) root to set up /home/joeschmo/albums and /home/joeschmo/songs your user "sambauser" will probably not have access to them. change the permissions with chmod or the owenership with chown. Hope this helps.
