Red face Mail Problem

I have a question for mail Server configuration. For example I have a static IP but not a registered domain.
If I install qmail with courier imap+vpopmail... do i any chance to send mail to outside domains or I just send mail to our created local domains ??

For Apache I can reach my unregistered domains by giving the DNS Ip to my ethernet connection. For mail Can i do something like that??

Do you give information about this situation thanks...

You do not need a registered domain to send email to the outside (usually, there are some paranoid MTA's out there, especially in this day and age of spam, but normally you should be fine). If you want other people to send mail to you at your host (as opposed to at your ISP, for example), you do need a registered domain (well, an MX record, to be precise - and you can technically get one of those without having a registered domain, but it's easier to just get a domain in that case).

If you want to access your mail via the POP server on your box, you'll have to use the IP address, as you are doing now for Apache (although I don't quite follow what you mean with 'giving the DNS ip to my ethernet connection').

okey ..then

Our server has a static Ip and the bind,apache,qmail..etc were located in this server. But we didnot have an registered domain. For reaching the web pages in my apache outside.I have to give the Bind Service Ip to my internet connection.Otherwise I did not reach this sitess...so when i try to send mail wint qmail-smtpd there was an error like that "rcpthosts allowed"

Do you have any idea for this??

Thanks for your answer..

Do you get this error when you send mail from your box using qmail to somewhere else? In that case, the MTA there is indeed refusing your connection, probably because you only have an IP address and no domain name.

And I still don't quite get what you mean by 'give the Bind Service IP to my internet connection' ???

it means this:

My bind service listens the given static IP and the unregistered domain for this is for example.. www.people.talks ,www.people.loves , www.people.laughs ...etc and in my apache i made virtual hosts for this unregistered domains.

Now think that how can i see this web sites which is not registered??
One way in server i can see them but this is not the thing i want

And the other is giving the DNS IP of my server to my Internet connection
whereever i located ...

I think now you got it..I managed to send mail to a registered domain by
giving the name of domain in rctphosts.Do you have any idea about this
DO I have to input all registered domains which I wish to send mail to rcpthosts file ???

As to the rcpthost question - you indeed have to specify this. However, there is also a way of configuring qmail to set hosts that qmail relays for, to any destination. (Probably something like relayhosts -- I have no experience with qmail). Put the machines you mail from in that, and qmail will relay for them to anyone. Check the qmail docs.
