lancity cable modem under slackware

I have a big problem....
I have a cable modem internet connection, and i have problems seting it up....
I use slackware linux and have used the netconfig tool to setul my connection, but after when i want to ping www.yahoo.com it says it can not ind the host.
How can i set it up?

What dou you get when your run

ifconfig

and what are your settings on the computer... is it dhcp...or static settings..post some of this info so we can have a look and see if we can better help you.

It could be a DNS problem, have you tried another server?

THX again... my ISP speld the DNS adress wrong...
