Fedora Core 2 - eth0 'no link present'

Hi, I have a server here (homemade server) with Fedora Core 2 on it. I have a Linksys *something* in it that uses the 'NC100 Network Everywhere Fast Ethernet 10/100' driver. It was working fine before I moved it to its new home (as far out of sight as possible ), and now it can't establish an ethernet link. All of the network settings should be the same as before, as it is connecting to the same network, just in a different place.

The link light on the back is not on, and same for the link light on my router. I get an error 'no link present', which doesn't tell me anything I don't already know.

What's going on? Thanks in advance for any help.

Are you using a new cable? Check the cable.

Try the same network cable too another PC, if it works its a faulty nic (most likely)

If it still doesn't work try a different cable, if it works it means the old cable is faulty. Make sure you have crossover or straight, depending on the situation also

failing that try a different port on your switch, if you have one that is.
