Red face CUPS problem need help


guys, I am trying to set a printer that is on a w2k box, Epson
it is share , samba runsfine. I amsuing cups to set it up.
I get this meesages in cups
"cli_session_request() failed..."

i am running suse 9. any help pleaseeeeee.

(read my next post - I goofed this one up and submitted another before I found out that I can edit my posts).

For me - solved the "cli_session_request() failed..." issue.

I was going nuts with the same problem.
Then I found out that the WINDOWS host name was UPPER CASE
and I had been using lowercase host name.

Host name was 'inet-xp' I needed to use 'INET-XP'

I used:

smb://user:password@NET-PRODUCTS/inet-xp/LexmarkX

And I would get that "cli_session_request() failed..." error message.

When I changd it to (UPPERCASE HOST NAME), it worked!!!

smb://user:password@NET-PRODUCTS/INET-XP/LexmarkX
