Unhappy CUPS problem....

Hi guys i have a little problem with cups. my printer is a samsung ml-1210 usb connected, i dowloaded the driver from linuxprinting.org. During the installation everything works fine, but when i try to print the test page nothing happen. So I took a look at cups error log file and i found this:

Quote:
E [12/Apr/2005:09:03:48 +0200] PID 3823 stopped with status 22!
I [12/Apr/2005:09:03:48 +0200] Hint: Try setting the LogLevel to "debug" to find out more
What does it mean? How can i solve the problem? Have a nice day

What do you mean "during installation worked fine"? You mean you actually printed out something? I assuem not. FIrst check the status of a cups demon
Code:
/etc/init.d/cups status
If it says stoped, then start it
Code:
/etc/init.d/cups start
if it says started the restart it
Code:
/etc/init.d/cups restart
and if it is not working post the log file

Hi,
first of all this directory doesn't exist in slackware because slack is bsd like it's not sistem V:

Quote:
/etc/init.d
so i restarted cups by launching /etc/rc.d/rc.cups restart but nothing is changed, here is my log:

Try editing: /etc/cups/cupsd.conf
and set LogLevel to debug as the log says, maybe you can find more about what's causing the problem.

You may check this too (I don't know how old it's): http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_pr...amsung-ML-1210

It just happen to me, check your log in debug mode carefully, mine said that an app was missing. I checked on Slackware Package Browser for that file and found that a package (espgs) was missing.

I download from the Samsung site:
20040226161010546_lpp-1.1.2-7-i386.tar.gz

I followed the instructions, it work like a charm
in Gnome-2.10 from GSB.

Richard

PS: I tryed to configure it with the CUPS configurator
without any success.

I'm impressed.....very good tips, i took a look at espgs package and i discovered some files are missed..probably during an update. So i removed it and then reinstall it and now always is fine. Thank you very much. The power of linux community! Have a nice day and thank you again!

P.S. Sorry for my poor english but i'm italian!
