CNET Pro 200 MDK 9.2 Troubles pls hlp

Hey,

I have been tinkering with linux for about 6 mos off and on. I had RHL 7.2 and 9.0 and they were great and all, just didn't do/look what I wanted them to. So I tried MDK 9.2 just a coupla days ago. I like everything EXCEPT!!!:

I cannot access the gateway for my cable connection.

I've been doing some reading and here is what I know.

The driver is Tulip.

The NIC is working and is pingable.

I cannot ping the gateway/router (IP 192.168.1.1)

I want a Static IP address not DHCP.

I have the tarball for the NIC if necessary (although I don't know how to compile)

I have been playing with Drakconnect... basically... it stinks.

OK! Can anybody help me?

THanks!

Oh yeah, I am willing and wanting to learn too!

Hey,

I have the same problem with this card.
My linux is Slackware 8.1 and the kernel is 2.4.18 .
The driver my CNET PRO 200 uses is dmfe -> it is for davicom chipsets i think

I'm suspicious about the media but it is not allowed to be changed...
It has to be 10baseT and I don't know what exactly it is now...
