Poor sound quality, fresh Mint install
I recently did a fresh install of Mint and one of the more persistent issues I'm having is getting proper sound quality/control.
I'm using ALSA, however it doesn't actually detect my sound card - it has every device/chipset listed as "PulseAudio" (??). Only have master volume control, no bass or similar. Additionally, everything sounds like it has an echo, and anything that isn't FLAC has massive cracking in it (mp3's are unbearable).
Here's the only result via lspci:
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801JI (ICH10 Family) HD Audio Controller
So...yeah. Confused newbie here. Any advice much appreciated!

Could you post your /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base for me? You might need to change the model. It might be the following, but I am still looking at your device online:
Code:
options snd-hda-intel probe_mask=1 model=6stack-dell

Look in my previous post, and copy and paste to the bottom of your alsa-base file. Save, reboot, and let me know if that is the right configuration.
