After a recent kernel update I am getting an out of memory error on restart, but if I shut down completely and startup it boots fine. I am running Linux Mint 21.1 on a Mac mini as a Plex server. While this is not a major problem (as the computer is on all the time) should I go back to an older kernel or wait for a future updated one?

yes, you can definitely revert to your previous kernel. And also you can wait for a future update. I can't see that out of memory on that picture.

I am beginning to think it was a grub update or something to do with the Apple hardware as my other computer I built had no issues with the same update. I am going to revert to an older time shift point and see what happens.

Seems the grub update was the problem, I used timeshift to go back to a previous state & updated everything but the grub updates, then updated the kernel with no problem.
Must be something the Mac Mimi's firmware didn't like, as my other computers (HP8200 & my build PC) did not have this issue
