Out of memory error on restart

After a recent kernel update I am getting an out of memory error on restart, but if I shut down completely and startup it boots fine. I am running Linux Mint 21.1 on a Mac mini as a Plex server. While this is not a major problem (as the computer is on all the time) should I go back to an older kernel or wait for a future updated one?

yes, you can definitely revert to your previous kernel. And also you can wait for a future update. I can't see that out of memory on that picture.

There is a previous message that says “out of memory, press any key”
I am beginning to think it was a grub update or something to do with the Apple hardware as my other computer I built had no issues with the same update. I am going to revert to an older time shift point and see what happens. |
Seems the grub update was the problem, I used timeshift to go back to a previous state & updated everything but the grub updates, then updated the kernel with no problem.
Must be something the Mac Mimi's firmware didn't like, as my other computers (HP8200 & my build PC) did not have this issue here are the packages i put on hold: grub-efi-amd64-bin/jammy-updates 2.06-2ubuntu14.1 amd64 [upgradable from: 2.06-2ubuntu10] grub-efi-amd64-signed/jammy-updates 1.187.3~22.04.1+2.06-2ubuntu14.1 amd64 [upgradable from: 1.182~22.04.1+2.06-2ubuntu1 shim-signed/jammy-updates 1.51.3+15.7-0ubuntu1 amd64 [upgradable from: 1.51+15.4-0ubuntu9] |
