Linux Mint 18 keyboard and mouse occasional lockups

I'm having an issue with LM18 keyboard and mouse doing occasional lockups, no solution as yet. Tried two different mice and keyboards. I think it may be the ATOM CPU processor though.

On what do you base that supposition ?.
If you don't have a historical data collector (collectl or similar) maybe write yourself a loop to keep top and sensors output every so often.

No good without hard evidence.

Cinnamon is fairly demanding on resources and this could be a problem caused by that.

Could you also post your computer specs and let us know which kernel you are running?

Please also check the multiple notes on freezing here: https://www.linuxmint.com/rel_sarah_cinnamon.php to see if they have relevance to your setup.

Just vor information, I tested mint 18 cinnamon on my t500 ibm which is a 2.xx duo core but it was not responding well than I tried mint 18 mate and i stuck with that. I have cinnamon on my desktop and on that it runs grest but it is i3 core with 4gb ram. The menu open delay could short though.
