How to use Mint 18.1 ISO

Downloaded and burned Mint 18.1, using Brasero. Inserted ISO in DD, restarted the computer. 18.1 didn't load?? Mint 17.3 did. What do I need to do? Thanks

Did you verify the md5sum of the downloaded ISO file was correct?

Did you burn the ISO file as a data disc instead of burn as image? Look at the contents of the disc and if you just have a a single ISO file then it was not burned correctly.

If you have any doubts about the veracity of the iso that you downloaded, re-download it from here:

https://www.linuxmint.com/edition.php?id=226

This assumes that you want the 64-bit version and would like to use the Cinnamon desktop.

Thumbs up Have corrected the problem, re How to use Mint 18.1 ISO

The attempt, and failure was corrected. My attempt was with a 32 bit version. Since last communication, I've downloaded/verified/created an 64 bit ISO. All's well, I am now backing up (trying) my files etc. I am also changing email address, here at LinuxQuestions to current one. Thank you for the verification and assistance.
