Downloaded and burned Mint 18.1, using Brasero. Inserted ISO in DD, restarted the computer. 18.1 didn't load?? Mint 17.3 did. What do I need to do? Thanks
Did you verify the md5sum of the downloaded ISO file was correct?
Did you burn the ISO file as a data disc instead of burn as image? Look at the contents of the disc and if you just have a a single ISO file then it was not burned correctly.
Have corrected the problem, re How to use Mint 18.1 ISO
The attempt, and failure was corrected. My attempt was with a 32 bit version. Since last communication, I've downloaded/verified/created an 64 bit ISO. All's well, I am now backing up (trying) my files etc. I am also changing email address, here at LinuxQuestions to current one. Thank you for the verification and assistance.
All the best with the installation and with running Linux Mint 18.1 If you consider this thread solved, could you please mark it thus? (see "Thread Tools" at the top of the thread).
