Unwanted ubuntu breezy update

I accidently (yes it is possible for me as a ) updated my ubuntu hoary system to ubuntu breezy. Does anyone know how i can uninstall this update, or does anyone advise me to format my laptop. I don't mind formatting the hdd, but then please give the name for a distro which is optimized for presentations.

The mayor problems this update has caused are that i cannot acces the root terminal, and so cannot start lampp to recover my databases. I can not browse the internet anymore, the system got really slow compared to the previous speed and a lot of applications do not work the way they should work.

I myself was not able to find anything in the short piece of time I have available (studying, system administatrating and webdesign).

Any help is welcome,
if wanted, i'm on the MSN network with the adres: edit: removed

Thanks in advance,
Frank Stalpers

uh, so your time is more valuable than mine? remember that this is a free forum, you are not paying for support, you are not obligated to get it.

also, you probably want to remove your email address- spam bots love links to email. (Ie, you might start getting tonnes of spam)

that said-

if you need CD's, shippit is the free cd service for ubuntu (shipping included!) I got mine- coooool. Also it's a not bad download.

welcome to LQ! I hope you have a great time with linux.

Thank you for your advise.

About the time thingy:

I think you misunderstood me, I did not mean in any way at all that your time would be more valuable then mine. What I ment was that I unfortunatly did not have the time to perform a very wide search myself at the moment.

I'll summourize what is said on the ubuntu board, to make the search faster for others:

---Do not apt-get upgrade for a couple of weeks because the c++ transition is starting.
