The boot up stops after the "enable swap" portion and then hangs up. I could not do the graphic install, I had to do the text based install. It completed without any problems.
MrPeterC, I have the same laptop and PCLinuxOS works for me quite well. There are a few minor issues, but I've written how to solve them here: www.aeroforo.com/linux
If it is video related, instead of just pressing enter at the console, type "linux resolution=1024x768" (replace 1024x768 with your screen's resolution) and press enter. This solves many graphics related problems with Fedora, as the installer seems to be very bad about automatically detecting resolutions.
