thinkpad x30... Do I need to work around KMS ?

hi
I have IBM Thinkpad X30 which I currently run Slackware 13.0 on, and I'm thinking to install the latest slackware 14.0, however, my concern is whether I need to bypass KMS.
Does anyone have experience with Slackware 14.0 on TP X30 ?

Which videochip do you have and why do you think you have to workaround KMS?

Should run out of the box with Slackware 14, without any workarounds.

Between slack-13.0 & 14.0 there was a significant improvement in video drivers. Go for it.
