Recently I found out, that the thinkpad x30 is capable to boot of usbbootsticks. On
http://unit.aist.go.jp/itri/knoppix/sfs/index-en.html I found under "Problems and Solutions" the sentence:
Quote:
IBM ThinkPAD X30 & T23: Press F1 key at boot time and enter BIOS setup. Move to "Startup" -> "Boot" -> "Hard Drive". Move "USB-HDD" at top in the bootable HDD list. Press "F10" key for "Save and Exit". After reboot, press F12 key and select "Hard Drive".

This Method feels like it works sometimes and sometimes not, but if it is not booting of my normal harddrive but from usbstick, than I get the Error: "Bootup failed" or something like that.
The usbstick is perfectly ok, I reformatted it twice and dd sad nothing unusual ...
Had someone similar problems and knows a solution? I could try PXE boot, but usbstick booting looks much easier.
Thank you for any hints and tips!
