Palm USB sync

Hi --

Have you ensured that /dev/ttyUSB1 has permissions "-rw-rw-rw"? If not, "chmod a+rw /dev/ttyUSB?" (as root, of course).

I recently got a Z22 myself. After a few glitches getting it to talk to Linux and vice-versa, I'm quite happy with it.

I have found, however, that I have to hit the HotSync "button" on the device BEFORE starting the sync in JPilot (or pilot-xfer, etc.).

Hope this helps,
David

Just to be complete, I was able to get the palm to connect with jpilot. The key is to hit "Sync" on the palm, wait a few seconds then "Sync" on jpilot. I have had no problems since.

I use a Palm Z22

I didn't have to do any fancy setup stuff either.

Thanks for the thread / info on the z22 sync to linux. I'm new to this site (found it by way of google question about this topic) and am excited that I might be able to fix this problem (got my wife the z22 for Christmas and keep getting the question 'when are you going to get my palm to connect with my laptop?').

I'm running RHEL on the laptop and thought (forlorn hope) that connecting the two was going to be a trivial exercise when I purchased the z22 (ha ha - when is anything as easy as wished for?).

I'll let you know how this works out. And thanks again.
