Question notebook: unable to silence CPU FAN

Hi ;-)
I am unable to silence CPU FAN. I run Red Hat Fedora Core 5 (with default kernel), I turn off all services and change cpu freq from 1.6 GHz to 600 Mhz and still CPU FAN won't to turn off (I check /proc/cpuinfo and the current cpu speed is 600 Mhz)

I can't use Linux becouse CPU FAN gives me too many noise

Could you give some tips and trick to solve my problem ?
Thank you
Best wishes

Rafal Otwinowski
