Is the Mic Recording Feature working in Ipodlinux anymore?

Hey guys,

Because ipodlinux.org has been down for sometime now, I have been unable to find answers on how to get the recording feature to work in ipodlinux. I just recently installed the ipodlinux-installer-2.3w-netless-20070422.zip (latest) via Windows and everything seemed to go smoothly.

But in ipodlinux, when I try to record something, it says under development when I press "record" or "playback". Which netless install has a working recording feature? I need it to record lectures. I assume the devs put it back under development to improve it.

Thanks

For future reference, our forum software will automatically bump your thread AND keep it on the zero reply thread list (which are about the only threads I read outside the ones I moderate), so it's actually to your advantage not to manually bump your thread. Just an FYI.

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPodLinux, recording should work on 3g and partially on 4g and 5g iPods. Wikipedia also refers to a version released on Aug 11, 2008, which is apparently the ZeroSlackr installer at http://sourceforge.net/projects/zeroslackr/.

Thanks for that. I'll check it out. It appears someone just added the zeroslackr info a few days ago. I love recording!!

Wow...so apparently I installed zeroslackr and it installed fine, but the 08-11 build doesn't even include recording. I'm checking in the extras section of the menu in zeroslackr. Is there anyway I can manually install a working version of Recording into my existing ipodlinux/zeroslackr?

now I have to ask, we versions of ipodlinux/zeroslackr have Recording in the first place? Did the devs take it out or something? That's the only app I really need right now. Thanks

I've updated this issue and posted it on wikipedia's ipodlinux page unless someone can prove otherwise. As of now, the latest ipodlinux/zeroslackr builds do not contain a working version of voice recording.

Recording-0.4 is still under development. The version I got could not be working probably because there's something more recent, but the ipodlinux servers are down. I'm still wondering why zeroslackr doesn't have recording. I got 08/11 build and Recording wasn't even there!
