hp pavillion and fedora

i've tried to install fedora2 and 3 but neither will detect my touchpad. my model is hp pavillion zv5000 series. red hat 9 works well but fedora wont. I've tried using the other mouse drivers available during installation but none work.

what should I do in this case?

i should point out that even if i use the keyboard to go through the install process, the whole process is halted at the screen after reboot where it wants info about the video settings because the focus is nowhere on the screen.

PLEASE HELP THIS NEWB!
