hp laptop Modem SMBus

Hi,
in my hp presario c300 laptop there is a modem and it works well in XP.
Can't figure out how to make it work in FC6.

lspci -v
there's nothing about a 'Modem'. Ignoring Audio/Video and other stuff a section about
SMBus Intel 8xxxx seems to be related to the modem.
Can somebody help me in figuring out howto make it work?

thanks

indika

It works well with windows because it is a winmodem. What you need is a script called scanModem. This will attempt to detect your modem chipset and offer suggestions to get it going.

Note: SMBus = system management bus
