Hi can some one help me

My problem is that i have just installed ubuntu (Edgy) and when the system loads the following statment is output [vt596 smbus error upgrade bios or force address]

what does this mean and how am i meant to resolve it, my laptop is old it has an fic a360+ mother board and the last bios upgrade for it was back in 2002, so i do not have an option to upgrade bios but still would like to resolve this error.
