Fedora 2 on Amilo D1840?

Hi

Has anyone (of you) installed Linux on Amilo D1840? IŽd like to know if I can get all the hardware to work. Here is the list of the hardware:

SiS 5513 IDE UDMA Controller
SiS Accelerated Graphics Port
ATI Mobility Radeon 9600
Realtek AC'97 Audio
Smart Link 56K Modem
SiS 900-Based PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter
Broadcom Wireless LAN 802.11b Network Adapter
Realtek RTL8180 Family PCI/Cardbus Fast Ethernet Network Interface Cards
O2Micro OZ711M1 MemoryCardBus Controller

so, basically i need firewire, usb2, wlan etc. to work. Any insight? what distro should I try? (have experience with Slackware & Fedora)

Hi

Yes, I have Slackware 9.1 on a Amilo D1840.
It is running greate, I just have some troubles with ALSA. OSS is working nice.
I'm running a custom 2.6.6. kernel. ATI FGLRX 3.9.0.
Firewire and wlan is the only thing I havent got to work.
And dual mouse (the internal and an usb mouse) after I compiled and started using synaptics driver, my usb mouse stopped working.
But the internal mouse works like a charm

If you have any tips for me, please send me an email at retrox -att- linux.net, I might as well have some tips for you.

I like slackware linux alot, I dont want any other distro, but you'll have to figure out what you like best for yourself. If yo want all easy and graphical, or old-lookin' boring, but fast and reliable..
