FC2 on Laptop -normal install

When I try to install FC2 on my Dell c600 using the 4 cds (from .iso's on fedora's website), it gets all the way to the end of the third cd and then just reboots. I figured it was a problem with my cd and downloaded the iso image #3 again and burned another cd. Same thing.
It says there's no kernel installed, it won't go on to the 4th cd if you stick it in and reboot and tell it to read from the cd drive again, nada.
Did I miss something? I've spent HOURS trying to just install this. Help!

I think you may find that it's not the 3rd cd that is the issue. I think the kernel is on disk1 and is initially loaded into memory.

I've got FC2 running fine on a CPX and C600. My only problem is that I can't get the integrated modem on the C600 to work - I can't get it recognized.

It's been a while since I have heard anything on this, so this might have been resolved already (and if so, please feel free to share) but most integrated modems are winmodems; the processing power comes from the main processor, and they are designed specifically to work with windows. They will not work with linux. I have seen sites advertising a fix/patch/driver to make it work, but never seen any user that posted that they got it work. If you need to use a modem, you need to get a compatible hard modem, one where the processor is built onto modem itself.
As for Linuxfordummies, sorry, no information there.
