FC2 turns off my hard drivers at reboot, is this normal?

Fedora C 2 turns off my HD's everytime I reboot, then when its posting it takes and extra 2 min just to turn the Hds back on, is this normal? Is there any option to disable this? Just wondering cause everytime it does this I head the Hd's click at post and its a lil scary, just want to make sure it wont kill my HDs. Thanks
