Need help converting pcmcia driver to 2.6 kernel, dev_link_t state replacement?

I'm porting a driver to 2.6 kernel and have run into some issue. I can't seem to find any documentation on pcmcia driver development for 2.6 kernel. It seems that the structure defined in ds.h dev_link_t was folded into the structure pcmcia_device, but in doing so, the state variable was removed. Instead, it seems that functions took over so the programmer didn't manually have to check against that state variable. However, I do not know what functions to call to replace the code referencing the state variable. I'm just looking for some documentation on 2.6 kernel pcmcia device driver development. The pcmcia sourceforge page is for 2.4 kernel development, but I have been unsuccessful in finding 2.6 material.

Thanks for the reply, but I've run across that page myself. It doesn't detail the changes required to reimplement in the absence of the state variable.

Any other suggestions? I'm wondering where other pcmcia driver developers get their information on how the 2.6 pcmcia interface works.
