video cards

just curious what the masses think from either experience or reading or whatever. But what is a good video card to use in linux..

I'm pretty positive nvidia is the way to go... they seem to have the best drivers.. (my friend has an ati radeon 9800 pro and he has all kinds of problems with it)

any specific models or anything anyone would suggest.. best buy for the price? etc. ????
