USB: some things work, some don't
Just installed Fedora Core 2 on a Thinkpad T20. Can't seem to get it to see my external USB drive or my CF card reader. I get either "Can't read superblock" or "Not a valid block device" -- BUT -- I can see the SD card reader just fine. This leads me to believe that all the drivers are installed. But of course the USB drive and the CF reader work okay on my Mac and my Windows computers. When I run dmesg it sees it, but I get :
sda:SCSI error : <0 0 0 0> return code = 0x000002
Current sda: sense key Hardware Error
Additional sense: Data phase error
end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 251904
Buffer I/O error on device sda, logical block 251904
Or sometimes I get
Device not ready. Make sure there is a disc in the drive.
Now, again, these are cards and drives that work on Mac and Win, but some of them work on Fedora. All the SD cards work on Fedora, none of the CF cards do, and the HD doesn't. Any ideas? I'm running kernel 2.6.7 FYI.
